SoCo Tango Club

In 2013, SoCo Tango Club's visionary and founder, Dyana Foldvary, decided to bring a tango dance to the Santa Rosa area. She held a community meeting at her home on August 3, 2013 and with the help of the dance community, began organizing the foundation for the first practica which took place soon thereafter on September 19th. SoCoTango is now a 501© non profit organization.

Photo of Dyana Foldvary She has been a dancer for over 40 years with experience in modern, jazz, ballroom, swing, African, Contact Improvisation, and finally, Argentine Tango, and a dance instructor for over 15 years.

Her teaching focus is to de-construct tango, isolating the essential techniques, giving an understanding of where a movement originates. She teaches how to express both connection, musicality, and precision of lead and follow communications. Dyana leads and follows, and can train both leaders and followers.

Dyana's goal is to teach her students to understand the elements of what will become an improvised dance rather than teaching sequences and patterns.
